Yeah but they don't do nearly as much damage.
If I take other characters then Levi I take alot longer to take down a group of Titans.

Mikasa and Levi are the most effective in damage, just like in the manga... isn't a pvp game, it's good to stick with the main lore and keep stronger who is stronger, the others are effective in other ways, the ones who can give commands for example, you can kill entire groups of titans just by sitting on your horse, risking NOTHING.

lol yea good luck with that. would take you about an hour to kill a titan in hardmode with just your squad.

Allso most of the people who pick levi are nublets who just try and rush the whole stage getting you a b rank then think they'r a hardcore titan killer lol.

Everyone has their uses.
Eren - when you go to high rank missions and your weapons can't kill something, use him and charge his signal. His signal is somewhat glitched if you're client in multiplayer though (it did no damage at all in my case)
Armin, Hange, Erwin (Those with Tactician's eyes) - First you try to find S (or at least A rank) companion then you just sit back and order to kill. If you manage to get two S ranks and few A/B, you can kill any titan without doing anything just by targetting his nape and pressing Action 4 times. And no matter how many titans are in one place, if you keep your distance they will go down without any problems.
Sasha, Conny - those are stealth/ambush. You rarely get targeted by titan, so you just hit-hit-hit... And never press provoke. Ever.
Jean and Christa - both have great leadership (=damage from companions), but no tactician's eyes, so they only deal good damage when their companions are charged and you attack at that time (happens rarely and requires S rank and on most titans that's only boost to first strike). Christa has a lot of loot-based abilities making her money-maker if you can handle her though.
Levy, Mikasa - just go and slice everything yourself. Stupid DPS, so a lot of people like them...

It's about what playstyle you want.

I like Armin the most.
Fast does an alright amount of damage.
When A or S class companions are on your side you can do major amounts of damage in a short time.

I don't sit back with Armin tho.
I do all the things at the same time :3

For the 8 and 9 star missions i like to play as Erin. His titan form makes all Bizzare titans a cake walk rather than a repetitious grind. I can get S rank in as low as 8 minutes using him, even with low-level co-op companions.

Henge is best, because she's Henge.

Her damage is good enough that she can kill things solo reliably, but she still has the bonus of Tactician's Eyes. Not as good Leadership as Armin, but that's worth being able to do damage herself.

I love her flavor text whenever she encounters an abnormal, it brings so much energy to the game. As a side note, what the hell is she even saying when you activate her damage buff? the one that sounds like "Koagi ahi a ite!!!!!!!!!!"
