Stuck in Castle of Lupia

I went back to the top of the castle area to get the heart, but now I can't escape? There is a wooden plank preventing me from going back, and the trap door at the King doesn't open. Also tried using the Teleport Wand, but I guess I have a portal open elsewhere and it won't let me make a new one. I have seen the situation talked about before, but no resolution. Please help. I'm at 97% and would like to finish the game.

I’m not sure if I understand the situation entirely. With wooden plank do you mean the drawbridge from the castle (left of main hall?). If you have the portal staff equipped, please note that it’s not a melee weapon and you can’t hit any switches/levers directly. (Eg drawbridge lever)

The wooden plank at the top of the room where you get chased by the giant blade. Between there and the King I cannot figure out how to get out. I also can't use the Teleport rod as I have a portal opened elsewhere. See map: https://imgur.com/a/tSL15X7

You should be able to generate a portal in any room outside the one with the giant blade. Can you retry that? If you still have issues we may need to check your savegame, for that please contact support@monsterboy.com cheers!
