Logitech Extreme 3D Pro?
Just bought this. Never used one before. I installed the Logitech newest utility 5.9.129.0 dated 4/27/2010 which recognizes all the buttons and the stick. It lists as the default gaming device in Overload but in-game nothing works. Running W10. I seem to get this in all games. Ideas?

Are you plugging the joystick in before or after you start the game? That's the only explanation I can think of, as I used to use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro myself, and it worked fine on this game.

Yep, it's is plugged in before playing. If I run the logitech utility, all buttons work. The joystick shows up as a device in games but doesn't work in any game.

Open up 'Set up USB Game Controllers' setting in Windows Control Panel.

Do you see the 'Logitech Extreme 3D' listed there?

Did you install the latest driver from the Logitech website? It should be "lgs510"
I would unplug the joystick, and install that driver, replug it in and give it a try.
I had no issues using this joystick in overload.

See if that helps?
Yes my device is listed. The newest Logitech driver/utility 5.9.129.0 dated 4/27/2010. Yes I did that. I open the utility and my joystick functions work. Tried reinstalling, restarting, etc. All same results. The 'Logitech Extreme 3D' is listed as the controller in Overload.

This is my final guess: Did you calibrate the joystick in-game, from the controller section of the Options screen? IIRC, it wasn't enough to just plug the joystick in in order for it to work, even if the game recognized it. You needed to calibrate it and set the keybindings for it.
I will check. I don't remember seeing in-game caliberation.

From the Options menu, go into Controls, then Controller, then Advanced. If memory serves, you'll find it there. I haven't played in a few months though, so I could be wrong about the exact placement. But I do remember that SOMEWHERE within that chain, the option to calibrate the joystick will be there. Doing that, along with configuring your keybindings, will solve your issue.
I set the calibration ingame. It did read the stick fine. But it still will not work in game. I must be doing something wrong. I will continue to play with it. It's not plug and play for sure.
Valden21 you were right. I assumed the stick was plug and play like a gamepad. It's not. Some games it starts up. Other games like Overload, need to setup the in-game calibration of the x and Y axis before it will work. Thanks for your help.

No problem. The Descent games also require in-game joystick calibration in order to get it working. Makes sense, though, as the first two Descent games were made by the same people who made Overload.
