Games like that are just fun to play and have great stories. Would love to see something like that, but it would probably require a lot more money than it took to do Overload.

Well, theres this. Its been on Early Access, then they pulled it from the store front. I havnt followed it, but when I do hear anything about it, its usually negative.

That project is really neat. Played through FS2 and then FS1 a few years back using that. No need for a remake! A successor though...that would be amazing...but I think Interplay still owns the IP so could be tricky...only so much you can get away with!
I wouldn't hold my breath for a AAA space combat sim though. They havn't been popular in decades... even FS2, the greatest example of the genre released at the height of the genre, was a financial flop in it's own time. Look for indie games.
