Descent: Destination Saturn
Anyone remember the Descent: Destination Saturn release? That was my first Descent experience. What an awesome final level. They included it in the levels pack which was later released (Descent: Levels of The World) but it was actually removed from the main game in the final release of Descent. I wonder what an Overload version of that level would be like? I have yet to play the game (waiting for the PS4 version) but it would be an awesome thing if the final level of Destination Saturn was featured in DLC for Overload...great memories! I wonder if there would be any issues in terms of ownership (Interplay, Parallax)?

I still have a copy of that final level (I also have the Destination Saturn CD in a box somewhere.) It was a really interesting challenge.

It is possible to convert Descent levels into Overload levels. One guy on Discord has done levels 2 and 6 including replacements of bots and powerups. I don't know if anyone will ever get around to Destsat 15, but it would be a good choice.

Reinterpretation is always better than a straight up conversion in my book. Especially from a game that's aged this much.
I'd really like to see what could be done with its ideas, recombined in a new way.

Never played Descent: Destination Saturn, but I did play Descent: Levels of the World way back in the day. What was the name of the level? Maybe I still remember it. If it's the one I fear it is, then an Overload version of that level would be just bonkers. However, I feel that Overload is more along the lines of Descent 2 than the first one. I can't be the first one who, upon seeing the Scorpion auto-op, thought "Uh-oh, not this one". Some of the weapons, like the Reflex and the Driller, also behave more like certain weapons that didn't show up until the second game.

Destination Saturn was my first Descent experience. It came with the bundled software pack for a Compaq Presario computer that my parents bought.

Lucky. We didn't get that game when my parents bought their first modern computer (for '96 ideas of "modern"). We got other games, but not that one. I had to wait two more years before I played the Descent games for the first time.

I had the same experience. I was thrilled when the final level of that version was included in levels of the world which I picked up many years later.

Honestly I cannot remember, I would have to load up levels of the world and I am not sure it works on my computer. I think it was something like "Saturn15" but I am not sure.
