Multiple screens?
Is it? Will it be possible to play Overload on 3 split screens?

Oh the dream! lol. I believe thats a windows/gpu thing moreso than game-to-game, no? If your system can run it, there's no reason to think any game you choose can't support it (granted some may look funny).

I mean, with side views like VR, not a streched front screen. It has to be set up in the game no?
Would be quite immersive IMO.

Too bad!

Do you happen to know if this kind of design is a priority for the next version with a capable engine?

Sorry, no idea on an answer for this right now ;).

Simultaneous Multi-Projection would be nice, though I'm not sure that Unity supports this yet.

Nice, but does it mean my brand new 1070 Ti is obsolete? Oh my! I should be used to it by now...
But Hey! It's awesome for the Overload of joy next week!
Hyper Sonic May 23, 2018 @ 4:29pm
Everything after 1080 has SMP, 1070 Ti is a year newer than the 1080. Ti is always the year after models, like what Apple used to do by adding an S at the end of the model name.

Thanks for the information!

Np. I think newer versions of Unity supports SMP
https://developer.nvidia.com/vrworks
"VRWorks DirectMode as well as Simultaneous Multi Projection (SMP) features are supported in DX12."

Though I can't find mention of it here, but that doesn't neccesarily mean it isn't there
https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-vrworks-and-unity

They mentioned something like 16 different projections in that video, I suppose if you had say 4 or more displays you could potentially completely surround yourself with monitors using SMP to get much of the same feel as using HMD w/o a HMD.

A single spheric monitor you sit in! Mini holodeck!?!
Hyper Sonic May 24, 2018 @ 7:49am
There is at least 1 spherical display

There is at least 1 hemisphere display

Here's example of 4 surround displays, but the perspective is only correct if you sit in the center

Here's an example where the perspective is correct no matter where you stand, and it's stereoscopic to boot! (FF to 2:40)

Wow! Interresting links! You like VR a lot don't you? I imagined further an immersive vibrating spherical "LCD monitor" display with surrounding sounds coming from the display itself all around, with the smells as a bonus! I wonder what a Kraken smells? ;-)
Hyper Sonic May 24, 2018 @ 1:47pm
A display screen vibrating could cause smearing, and sound generation involves vibration as well, headphones might work best. I'd be happy with surround displays before incorporating scents!
