Looking forward for this!
Devs: awesome game!
Find which axis is the throttle.. ie axis 0, axis 1, axis 2, axis 3 whichever shows up when you move it to bind to a function.. then click "calibrate"
You have to start with -1.00, click a ok,move it to 1.00, click ok, move it to 0.00 click ok. (for my setup, pulling the trigger = clicking ok) FOr me -1.00 was full forward throttle, and 1.00 was full aft throttle. So I had to start with throttle forward, throttle back, then throttle center. Then bind throttle forward to forward, and throttle reverse to reverse.
You may want to add a medium to large deadzone to the axis to ensure it's easy to come to a full stop if you need it.

Odd.. my throttle's deadzone is set to "medium" and is clearly there. Also using a TM Warthog throttle. There's a portion in the center of the full range where nothing happens. "Medium" is still smallish though..
Thanks for the explanation. But I think I missunderstand what consider to be Throttle. I mean, in X3D Pro that I just bought, there is a control in back-under the stick that when I move it up, it will (by default), move forward faster. If I move it down, it will make the movement slower, until stop.
Actually, what I was thinking is to use this as forward and backward mechanism. But I don't think this possible. I guess a fligh sim control with two stick, with the secondary stick can be use as the move forward/backward, right?
.. Or I think pedals from car simulation control can be use too.
Atm I am using W and S as the move forward/backward control
I actually have one of those at my desk. For the throttle on that and a few others, it is treated similarly to the 'triggers' of some controllers (like the XBoxOne controller). On these 'triggers', they are set so that the 'middle' is at one extreme, so that anywhere in the range is basically one direction - and the 'reverse' can't happen.
Go to: Options -> Control Options -> Joystick/Gamepad Options -> Joystick Axis Settings
Select Logitech Extreme 3D Pro as your controller (or whatever your controller is if it's different)
For the axis, select Throttle (which is # 3 in this case)
The default settings for the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro is Min -1, Max 1, Zero 1. So for the entire range of the throttle, it *thinks* it's going in one direction.
Click Calibrate.
Move the throttle full 'negative' (ie - make the number as small as possible, which for this one is actually forward) and hit enter.
Move the throttle full 'positive' and hit enter.
Get the throttle as close to the middle/zero as possible and hit enter.
Your joystick should now be good to go for the throttle - go to the Remap Joystick/Gamepad menu & make sure your buttons are mapped as you like, and have fun playing.
As the dev said you can totally set it up for forward and backward. Use the steps I outlined and made a video of.. and that our kind Dev Valkyrie outlined as well :P
