ASMR is NOT inherently sexual.
ASMR has become slightly more mainstream after receiving some media and famous YTers attention.
A lot of men are not secure enough with their own sexuality or mature enough to listen to other male ASMRtists. I feel like that they are doing themselves a major disservice there.
In general, men like porn. Therefore, people (especially stacked chicks) have tried to capitalize on easy youtube money by creating a niche fetish. Videos that just sound like blowjobs and whatnot.
If you went back to the start of the ASMR surge, there really weren't many suggestive videos.
It sort of Rule 34'd itself.
I will admit I have had sexual responses to ASMR, but not if the video didn't warrant it.
