Can't use new chefs from DLC

I just bought the DLC, mainly for the new chefs. However, I can't use the new chefs in both original campaign and DLC campain. The DLC is already installed, since I can access The Lost Morsel level now. Anyone know how to fix this? Do I need to finish the original campaign to use the new chefs?
