Controller Problem: Game assigns 2 characters for controller 1. [SOLVED]
I am trying to set this game up for multiple PS4 controllers; although the game doesnt let me set up all the controllers. For some reason controller 1 takes up two characters. Is there a way of fixing this? in other games i was able to fix this in the options. this game is a bit more stubborn.

Press Y during the level map screen. On that menu, you can choose if 1 or 2 characters will be a assigned per controller (blue controller or half blue-half red controller).

That doesn't help. A single controller actives two players and there is no way to change it. One controller can be changed to support 1 player, but the other controller only allows 2 players at the same time.
What's weird is that a single controler activates two players on "separate" not shared controller on the screen.
I think this happened when I launched the game with a single controller, then changed the usb port and added second controller.

Hello,

I encounter the same problem (controller #1 is an XBox controller, and #2 is a PS4 one, using DS4Windows to run it).

To describe the problem: on the character selection screen (when you launch a game, or by pressing Y), the game ask me to press "A" to add a player.
I press A on the XBox controller, player 1 is added.
I press A on PS4 Controller, player 2 is added, and the 3d player slot is activated.
At this step, if I press "A" on the XBox controller to start the level, nothing happens.
If I press "A" on PS4 controller add a 3d player and activate the player 4 slot.

Another bug happens when pressing "B" on the PS4 controller (when you are on the map).
In this case, it toggle additional players (#2, #3) on/off (the controllers icons at the bottom of the screen are toggled on/off)...
first time you press it, only player #1 remains active (player #2 is disabled). If you press "B" again, player #2 is activated again

I think the problem come from the PS4 controller support...

Hi guys, sorry this got missed over Christmas! In the options on the main menu you can go to controller settings and assign each player a controller. Hope this helps!

Hi,
Thank you for the reply.

In fact, I dicsovered that the problem came from DS4windows...it was creating a conflict between the PS4 controller and the XBox one.
But everything is working fine if I use the Steam native PS4 controller support instead of DS4Windows for the PS4 controller

So I still having problem with that and there is anyway I could fix that?
Pico Jul 6, 2017 @ 11:16pm
I'm still having the issue described here.

Steam Link (SL) recognizes my controllers:
1 steam controller (connected via bluetooth to the SL)
2 xbox 360 controllers (tried connecting to SL and to desktop directly)
1 ps3 controller (connected via BT to SL)

When I get in game, 2 controllers work. Seems to be based on controller number assignment. Seems like controllers 2 & 3 become recognized, regardless of what controller is used.

I'm open to any suggestions that can help resolve this.

Hey guys,

Apologies for the lateness of my reply.

So that I can investigate this issue further, could you please confirm the following:
1. Whether this issue occurs when all of the controllers are connected via wired

Once I have this information I will endeavour to help you further

Thank you for your continued support,

2 xbox controllers connected via wire
1 PS3 controlled via BT (not wired) to steam link
1 Steam controller via whatever it uses (not wired) to steam link

Hey Pico,

Apologies for the lateness of my reply,

May we ask what drivers are you using on your system in order to use the PS3 controller?

Windows does not have native support for Dualshock controllers and as such 3rd party drivers or software is required to make the controller function correctly. There are known issues that arise from using these 3rd party drivers and software in combination with other controller inputs that we would have to investigate if this is the case.

Once we have received your response I will will endeavor to help you further.

Hello Skibanks!

Apologies for the delayed response.

By what means do you have the Xbox 360 controllers connected to your system (wired/wireless)? Also, do you happen to have any 3rd party drivers/software installed when you have launched the game?

Thank you both for your continued support and patience,

The PS3 is supported natively by my Steam Link. I connect the PS3 controller to the Steam Link either via usb or wireless. Controller works flawlessly in other games I've tested.

To be more specific, I don't know what sort of magic Valve uses to get that functionality.

Hello Pico,

Steam may recognize the controller as a form of input via Big Picture mode but it may not be supported in select titles.

Do you experience the same issue when you play the game with the controller at the computer you have the Steam Link paired too?

Thank you,

I no longer have the ps3 controller, so I can not test using it directly connected to the computer, however I remember having a lot of difficulty connecting ps3 controllers directly to my computer. The software setup required to do that was too involved and I had other controllers to use.

Regarding the two xbox and one steam controller: I do not have issues playing with those controllers connected to the computer or to the steam link.

Ill be able to test after this weekend whether having all three controller connected directly to my PC and playing your game causes the previously mentioned issues.
