Elementary My Dear Majesty cannon and cat issue

I can't get the cannon to shoot the chandelier so that the basketball falls. Tried countless times but the chandelier just rocks and ball stays put. Any clues guys? Also, when in that section of the game, I have to force quit because the menu won't show, I'm guessing it won't until the ball has been hit.

You must hit the lit chandelier on the ground in front of the cannon. It will fall over an lit the dynamite under the cat.
