MG42 hip fire OP

Just got out of a match where a single rambo mg42 cleared out a almost capped obj. A on Dog Red. We lost because one dude ran in and hip fired mg42 all over the bunker. I don't understand how thats fair or even accurate. Hip Firing a mg42 is stupid enough but an accurate hip fire, that's just unfair. At least do what Red Orchestra 2 did and make it inaccurate. Otherwise the mg42 will remain the best weapon for short and long range. Just to recap, one enemy soldier took down 7 dudes in obj. A of Dog Red because he ramboed in with a mg42 and sprayed all over the bunker. It goes against what the game is all about because our team was quite coordinated whilst the rambo used the same tactics as a regular non-tactical FPS would use. It just does not fit into the teamwork theme of the game. Hopefully this will end soon as I have seen it happen in other matches.IRL It can be done but with heavy training. There is a proper stance and everything you have to do and you have to be stationary. The enemy who cleared out A was running around. As a substitue maybe make Mg42 hip fire a stationary manouver instead so it can still be done but not abused.

Its recoil is nuts. Anyone competent should be able to take him down fairly easily.

You cant hip fire an MG-42 in real life unless you're massive. The recoil would pop it out of your hands and you'd most likely shoot yourself in the face. + They're pretty heavy, so I doubt you'd be able to hold it up to aim like a regular carbine for more than 3 seconds.

There's a reason German units didn't run around with an MG-42 like an MP-40 in WW2, there was a gunner and a feeder. The way the game uses machine guns is unrealistic and unbalanced.

I have to agree, its recoil is insane. Either he is barrel stuffing you, getting lucky with the shots or you guys didn't react very quick.

Certainly I wouldn't try something like that unless it was really desperate haha.

Sturmfeuer is a perfectly fine tactic. If you're standing still. If you're moving, no chance. Which you can do incredibly easily in DOI.

I spoke to someone in a match last night who was using it to room clear, he says he has a keyboard macro to make the mouse have very high sensitivity. When he used the Mg42 he put this on so he was able to manage the recoil with ease.

This is why I think instead of nerfing the mg42 they could possibly instead just make non mounted hip fire a stationary maneuver so the Mg42 spam rush can stop. That would be the most accurate and well balanced solution I think they could come up with.

It was just a matter of close quarters plus rounds per minute shredding through us all. He ran through each room and only slowed to a crouch walk to fire. It looked pretty stupid. They made the Mg42 hip fire in the same fashion as any other weapon does which I think was a mistake because it's not like a mp40 or a Thompson. The same tactic of crouching for extra accuracy for a mg42 is pretty laughable. Imagine the ammount of strength someone would have to wield to run from room to room with a mg42 and still be able to then crouch down and fire and then stand up and run to the next room.
