Thats good to know that you will be changing it, But i am wondering. Do you not have permission to use the "more detailed" models that are already in the mod?
From a buyers point of view it looks as if i would be downgrading from a Free Mod to a Paid game with worse textures? I'm looking at it from the perspective of watching the trailer. Giving my first thoughts.
It's going to take us a while to create the "platform" we want to create on UE4. Better to give our community an awesome new game built off our Source Engine platform in the interim while they are patiently waiting for Sandstorm. That's how we see it anyway. If DOI becomes popular, then maybe we could bring it to UE4 and console after Sandstorm, if demand exists for that.
We at New World are very excited about Day of Infamy. The trailer doesn't show the gameplay and new features, which we believe will prove to be the major selling point.
The only thing i can request is that another "Release" trailer should be shown to us closer to the Early Access date showing these updated features and gameplay along with the High Quality art style.
Doing that will surely sell the game to me.
Also, DOI actually uses it's own M1 Garand model - here's a comparison[i.imgur.com] :D
They are very similar, My bad on that part however some assets are taken from Day of Defeat :)
I'm glad this situation is turning out better.
Insurgency went a really long way from closed alpha and today it feels like a beloved child of the developers, it had all the love and attention and I'm really proud for all the work done on the game. I'm proud to be an alpha suppoerter of this game.
On my memory, not so many early access games (and INS started way before steam early access existed) come out good and get the amount of support INS had, it offers a great value for the price. The mods, the workshop, game modes and overall polish make it THE best source game on my list and a game on par with Terraria by the amount of content added post-release.
But this game honestly feels very shallow not even looking at palceholder content. I just hope that it gets the amount of dedication and love INS got and I have faith in NWI because they proven themselves to be worthy of my trust.
Well, in that case showing the trailer on E3 without it was not the best choice.
Jeremy, will Insurgency owners get DOI at a discount?
