mouse4 mouse5 no longer work for push to talk
can't talk in game because mouse button 4 and mouse button 5 no longer register as a click inside the client. Discord is not open

What mouse do you have?
Have you checked that your mouse controll program works?

Mouse button binds will not work on End Game screen and in menus due to how Source handles focus for mouse input.

Are you telling me that my "Crete, Crete, Crete, Crete, ♥♥♥♥ you guys I hate Dog Red!" screams were all futile?

Default button do work in the end game screen. And those screams are real.

But my mic is on mouse 4. However, I'm pretty certain that the mic symbol appears when I'm pressing said button in the end game screen. I'll have to check that when I play the game next time.

this answer is very puzzling because when Day of Infamy first released and for a full year after release, mouse4 and mouse5 were acceptable binds for Push to Talk.

I've been using the same Logitech g502 out of the box with no driver install. When I first started playing Day of Infamy at release it accepted Mouse4 and Mouse5 for push to talk binds and it worked ingame as it always has with every source and goldsrc games I've played.

The only thing I've done differently is about a month ago I installed Logitech's beta G Hub Advanced Gaming software and that program installed logitech gaming software for the first time on my computer. My goal was to rebind some unused keys to give me extra buttons for an MMORPG, but I have since removed both programs.

Device manager reports I'm using Microsoft's "HID-compliant mouse" drivers, all my mouse buttons work properly including my g-shift key works for precision aiming, my sensitivity up and down buttons work too.

r/csgo thread, "what binds do you use for push to talk," the most voted comment is mouse button 4

This behaviour did not change since Insurgency so i'm not really sure why are you trying to argue with me here. Also please read my reply carefully as i've said it only does not work in certain situations.

If your binds do not work at all then that is likely an issue on your side (conflicting binds, mouse drivers, etc.) as again, nothing changed regarding this since Insurgency.

not even the default bind K works

my issue is with steam overlay in-game voice. I'll go bother people in another forum for it

When you have the settings opened on the overlay, you will not see the "Ingame Voice" tab.

this guy's comment fixed the issue.

I had the same issue some days ago, when i started to play the game.
I was unable to hear any voices and my mic wasn't working, too.

I could solve the issue by enabling app access to the microphone (Windows 10).

1.) Right click on windows 10 startmenu icon
2.) Click on settings
3.) Click on privacy
4.) On the left side, click on the microphone entry
5.) Then click on the "Change"-button below "Microphone access for this device is off" and choose "on".
6.) Switch "Allow apps to access your microphone" to on.

Also it's maybe an option to check the Steam VOIP Settings.

1.) Open "Friends & Chat"
2.) Click on the gear icon the the top right corner.
3.) Then click on voice.
4.) Choose your input and output device and start the microphone test.

After this i was able to hear voices from other players and my mic was working too.
Without the first part, and a restart of Steam, my mic wasn't working in the "Friends & Chat", too.
