so whats with the mag tap on the thompson?
is your guy trying to be all "tacticool" or there some legit reason i never learned about on the thompson?

It's to make the reload longer, since you don't have to pull the bolt back on an empty Thompson if you're using stick magazines.

Otherwise that action is meant to seat the rounds inside it so it feeds properly.

It's to knock the rounds to the back of the magazine to make sure they feed properly

hitting the mag on the side doesnt seat the rounds. you have to tap from front to back : me an actual infantryman who has had to do it multiple times for the m4

The Thompson's stick mag is a single-stack, the M4's 30-rounder is double-stack.
