Report a translation problem
A lot of RAM = no need for heavy Paged Memory usage.
Not a lot of RAM = you better have SSD.
Textures look really bad with it on low.
Also, with game set to high (mostly) they do look rather good?
Since when the texture handling method (memory-wise) affect the looks of those? :|

If you don't have enough RAM. If you set it to high without enough RAM your game could crash.
Try high.
I have 16 GB and it runs great on high with all max settings.
Not for me and my PC is not the best, i7-4790 and GTX 760. Source does not like newer hardware which is what I am guessing you have.
