M1 Carbine and M1 Carine Paratrooper
Shouldn't the M1 Carine Paratrooper have less weight than the regular M1 Carbine, because IRL it does weigh less than the regular M1, cus of the stock, and the paratrooper version was used because it weighed less during ww2. Also It shouldn't be the same point price as the regular one...

In game mechanics, it's just reskin for regular M1 Carbine (maybe for better immersion when playing with paratrooper skin). I don't think any rework is needed, and even if happens, it shouldn't be just direct upgrade to M1 Carbine for more price. It might get additional recoil, but still, is it needed? M1 Carbine in actual weight is light enough for radioman.

In my game, both M1s weigh is the same...I suggested a rework on the m1 carbine paratrooper because it weighs less, cus of its stock. Heros and Generals, has the same thing (not that I want this to turn into a H&G weapon)

They weight same, and this weight is enough good. I just wrote at the beginning of my post that it is just reskin, and reskin won't cause any balance issues :D

It's just a cosmetic change, nothing else.
The M1A1 weighs less but is apparently horrible to shoot, the stock not being very good.

Well, look at the thing. Now imagine it being on your shoulder and transferring the recoil of .30 Carbine into it. And also your cheek.

Shouldn't the Paratrooper version weight more because steel is heavier than wood?

Nope

I've been wondering the same thing. Why even have different versions anyway if there is no difference in gameplay and only a slight visual difference?

Because what's the point of adding units when you won't at least represent the weapons only they were issued?

But still, atleast the paratrooper m1 needs to have less weigh, cant wait to hear a reply from a dev.

Even if they do reply, it'll be:
No.

Actually, someone hasn't done their research.

M1 Carbine weight (w/ sling and loaded magazine): 6.1 pounds
M1A1 Carbine weight (w/ sling and loaded magazine): 6.79 pounds

So not only is it a negligable weight difference, you are also wrong. The paratrooper version is slightly heavier.
If that's the case would imagine the M1A1's advantages for tankers and paratroopers come from the fact that it could be folded and more easily contained in areas where extra room is a luxury. Even if that meant forgoing things like comfort when shooting. Nonetheless I think the differences are negligible when it comes to gameplay

As for why they're separate weapons, I'm not sure. Back it Early Access it was supposed to be a cosmetic attachment either tied to the unit or as a separate unlock a la cloth wraps
