Bren gun bolt hold open
Today I learned (from Forgotten Weapons) that the bren gun magazine holds the bolt open after the last shot, so it basically means you don't need to use the charging hande between reloads, like the thompson smg.

Would you prefer magslap instead?

Yeah. Do it like the Thompson. Make the animation longer without interacting with the bolt itself.

Wouldn't mind it actually.

Technically, all open bolt weapons do not need to be charged after firing their last shot. Only because the trigger tends to be held after the last bullet has been fired (driving the bolt forward) that makes it so they have to be recocked.
I like the sound of the bren's charging handle, so ♥♥♥♥ you if you want it replaced.

Well I bet we can all agree that FG-42 bolt-cocking has the worst sound.
thus it should be removed kappa

Actually, doing my research, turns out cocking the weapon while reloading is in fact proper procedure for reloading the Bren.

Slapping a rock in mag like the bren is kinda unnecessary.

Where did you read that? I learned about the hold open from the new vickers-berthier video that forgotten weapons posted, and it's pretty difficult to argue against him.

In fact, I think you have your facts wrong "BelgradeisthecapitalofSerbia." It's not the bolt that remains open, it's the ejection port.

Or were you saying that the handle should be pulled just in case the bolt had closed accidentally?
