they say only blacks can use the N word.

Im guessing, if you are being racist to your own race, its fine.

As long as you’re helping your team win the game, a little roleplay is fine

In fact, you can just play as the Germans and that would just work too ofc

Telling people only a certain color of person can say a word is the very definition of racism.

Nobody should be using that kind of language.

Roleplaying doesn't mean you suddenly don't have to have RESPECT for other people.

If you wanna be a jerk you're not roleplaying, you're just a jerk.

Soo you're saying that if a white person calls a black person a niger they are racist but if a black person calls a black person a niger then they're not racist by using the same word to call a black person only because they are black themselves? O.o If niger was so offensive to black people they'd do their best not to even use the word themselves. They really just want to use the poor me victim card when a person of non colour uses that word. Oh and by the way calling someone a niger doesn't make you a racist you only become a racist when you think that your race is supirior to theirs so go ahead and call people anything you want.

No its not unless its for something offical and profesional like an movie or theatre.

If you are just casuely roleplaying does not mean you get have an excuse to become an racist.
Its like how ''pranksters'' go around annoying strangers and claiming its an ''social experiment''
In both cases you are just being a douche.

Racism is never ok imo

I love it when people are so interested in using the "N" word they suddenly start caring about the language that black people use with each other. If nothing else about the black community concerns you, why do you mysteriously care what WE call each other? It's none of your business. Furthermore, you can use the "N" word all you want (as I know many of you do but then lie and say you don't), but use it in my face, there will be consequences.

Well historically white people have used this word solely to show that they think they are superior to black people. If you aren't a racist who thinks he is superior why would you want to use that word in the first place?

RP in a videogame is just kind of sad...

Because he's a roleplayer, that's why

I feel really indifferent to all this. People would scream Allahu Akbar in Insurgency all the time, which can be considered roleplay I guess. I feel like the people in this discussion are taking this post too literally and seriously, it’s not like op is legitimately racist or whatever. Of course, it can always get out of hand or even distracting, so that’s something to take note of.
People sometimes, especially in Pubs, say heil hortler (censored on Steam) as the Germans. That said, there are limits like I said before, but really most people don’t really care if it’s just for sarcasm; this is probably my last comment on this since this discussion seems to be going downhill anyway

As long as you let people know you're RPing?
And most of the well-run servers will probably kick you regardless of intent.

Videogames are roleplaying. Sad is being narrowminded like you are.

On-topic: in case some people are confused about this and before this all gets out of hand, roleplaying a racist would be talking about the in-game characters. So if (for example) you're a white individual and another PLAYER in the game is black, commenting on that in a racist fashion is not roleplaying. That's just racism. Saying something while (again, for example) playing a nazi and encountering say, an indian would be roleplaying.

But you'll probably catch other players off-guard who won't know you're roleplaying. If you're going to roleplay, it's safest to do so in a fun(ny) way that doesn't attack other characters based on skin because many won't know what you're doing.
