FPS drops/stuttering
I'm sure there are plenty of posts about this but I've already tried modifying my settings and it doesn't seem to make a difference in any way. Is there a definite way to help resolve this issue or is just a crapshoot?

Specs for reference:
i7-4770k cpu
Nivdia gtx 980
16gb ram
64-bit windows 10

I really do enjoy this game but this issue is just to much of an annoyance!

I have not. I've never actually messed around with launch option commands before.

Try this : +cl_forcepreload 1 +sv_forcepreload 1

Alright, I'll give it a shot.

Was I supposed to enter those seperately? I entered it and did not reciece a confirmation of any type and it didn't effect my game in any way. I'm assuming I did it wrong.

You can also lock the fps with rivatunner, it feels a lot smoother.

Try -dxlevel 81, maybe it helps a bit.

-refersh 60 ?
Or whatever?

set it to 60 with rivatunner, you will see the difference ( or even the 72)

in that case your frametime is all over the place that's why it doesnt look smooth, i would still lock it with rivatunner, but ohh well.. its your call xD

Cool, I'll give that a shot. I tried doing the cfg file method but I suppose I did it wrong because it made things worse!

Disabling "mutlicore rendering" fixed fps issues on my system!

I had serious lags/stuttering every minute for 10 seconds no matter which display resolution and video settings I chose. I also could just stand still with 100 fps and suddenly the fps dropped somewhere below 30.
The fps drops/fps issues on my system (CPU: amd 8350 fx | graphics: ATI R290 | 16GB RAM | SSD) could be fixed by disabling multicore rendering.

In case you want to see the number of frames per seconds:
  • start the game with parameter: "-console"
  • in game press: ^ to open console.
  • enter "cl_showfps 1" (or "2") to get the actual FPS on top left corner.
Optional:"net_graph 1" does also show network stats.
Or just install FRAPS. :)

Put this in the launch options: -console +fps_max 99999999 +cl_cmdrate 100 +cl_updaterate 100 -dxlevel 81 -w 1680 -console -refresh 120 -heapsize 1572864 -high -noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noipx -nojoy

same problem.

I7 7700k 5,1 Ghz
Gtx 1060 6gb
32 gb Ram
SSD

The cpu jump from 25% up to 100% and my fps drops very hard...
