In my opinion with the map size and teamwork-based gameplay 32 is fine enough, really 40 players works best on maps like Dog Red being the D-Day map, but for other smaller CQB focused maps it's not the most optimal
Steamcharts tells him the overall player count, but if you have a quick reread you'll see that wasn't his question. He meant how many players per match.
Coop or regular multiplayer.
coop is 8, and only players mp is 32
Standard COOP: 8 players
Modified COOP Config Servers: 16 players
Standard MP: 32 players (16v16)
Community servers: 40 players (20v20) *Depends how many slots are allowed/Purchased through the host or assigned on the box*
Special Assignment Servers: 24 players (I think this is correct; might be lower)
these games have awlays been a 16v16 which is perfect imo on the scale.
