Vickers K or Lewis Gun with 97 round pan for British MG?
Right now we have the weird watercooled Vickers for the British Machine Gunner. Does anyone else agree that it would be more appropriate to have a 100 round Vickers K or 97 round Lewis Gun instead since they actually existed as light/medium machine guns in WW2?

If anything it should be support, because machine gunner needs belt fed guns

Lewis is OP, vickers is ♥♥♥♥. Lewis has a bipod too, and you can actually aim down the iron sights with it while walking.. You definitely don't need that amount of rounds with the vickers especially with its fire rate.. you'd have to hold down the LMB for about 2 minutes.

Vickers K has since been tested and rejected (I know, I feel sad too).

A 97r pan would completely block the sights and mandate installing AA sights as well, which also kinda means a new delta_sequence. (but who cares about deltas) That and most 97r drums are seen on Lewis Aircraft guns.

The Vickers is based on a rare configuration of the Mk VI spotted in Malaya (obviously without some guy lugging a water bucket around).

Do I smell a new mechanic?
Also I've come to accept that all NWI games will have one or two weird gun choices, explaining stuff like the the Vickers and C96 carbine in DoI or the MP40 in insurgency

Maybe it was the Vickers GO you're remembering them testing? It was temporarly a weapon (kinda), and its name hung around the .txt for a while. Dunno, maybe it was K. I recall them saying that the De Lisle (a slighly better Welrod!) was also in testing for the Commandos, but then factions were dropped and that was the end of that

So I'm not crazy! Was there ever a Vickers K in testing then?

Vickers K and Vickers GO are more or less synonymous. When we talk about them I'm assuming we all mean the No 2 Mk I Land Service.

Vickers K machine gun, known as the Vickers Gas Operated (Vickers G.O.)

Ah, got my Vickers mixed up. Common mistake, I know
Really though, I'd much rather have a real Vickers than a fake one we have now

Not too fake at least. The Mk VI existed as shown in that picture. Maybe it is possible to mount Mk VII bipods on them.

You can like, call them VI.V or Vickers Tactical Limited Edition Vickers Machine Guns.

Or you can call them
