How do you unlock units

I've been playing a little while and i unlocked 2 of them but they seem to just unlock at random, is that so or did i miss something?

You unlock them by leveling up.

It would be nice to know how it works exactly. Do you receive a random unit each level and have the possibility of receiving the same unit more than once? What do the rarities on the units mean ? Does "rare" simply mean it unlocks at higher levels? Can you fully level up without unlocking every unit?

You either lvl up or buy them (buying them will probally be released soon atleast thats what the devs have said)

The inventory system doesn't seem to be working yet, but I bought the 92nd and I can use em in the game.

but as i said, i unlocked them randomly, not just by leveling up :/

I would like confirmation that custom server guys will be able to level up and unlock units otherwise our regulars would possibly want to play elsewhere which would be a terrible shame as we have built a great community over the past 8 months testing!
