Well I'm not in the process of making this exact scene. I thought that I should tell you I am making a map based on the fields outside normandy where they "capture" that one german pow who ends up returning to the front.
Haha, yeah, every ww2 shooter is directly/indirectly inspired by SPR and BoB and EatG and whatnot, I suppose. There's just something about that Ramelle place and the cinematogrpahy from the movie I feel lends itself particularly well to Day of Infamy in particualar
Is it? I don't get the same feel
Well, glad its been brought up before, hoping someone is in fact working on it.
Comacchio ain't based on that, but it has a lot of refrences like That bridge at the CW spawn, which is still off the minimap (needs to be updated).
It absolutely is. Comacchio is based on dod_Ramelle which is based on the final battle from SPR. Making yet another map to be more closely based on it would be pointless.
They kept most of the original layout and added new paths, more vertical gameplay and some other stuff. So yeah the map is heavily inspired by dod_ramelle but it has its own feel.
if you wanna know more from other maps check this out ---> https://newworldinteractive.com/doi-level-design-guide/ (a bit outdated)
