Any news on this issue?
Here is a screenshot of where you can't go through the tunnel. It just sits at the edge of the screen and won't go through. If you keep moving around trying to get to another spot that might work, sometimes it just drops you off of the screen (like you are falling from the bridge) and locks the game up.
I have tried this several times and even started a new game. Nothing seems to work.
Thanks for any help Genghis!
This issue apparently arises mid-game. In the playthrough shown in Andre Rock's Guide, it's the screen and gameplay shown around 3m15s in video 9 of 14 in his series (which I tried to embed here, but it was causing problems. You can click the link above to jump directly to the correct time in your browser, or play the video that Steam embedded below and manually skip to 3m15s).

I'm trying to determine if I might be able to provide a savegame file that would put people just past this glitchy moment to let them continue playing. We wouldn't have issues of OS compatibility since the game only runs in Windows, but I'm still not sure if this would work, for a couple reasons:
- If you ever tried to pass through that screen again, you might run into the same glitch. I'm not sure if you might run into that issue or not.
- While a local savegame file does exist on my computer, the game uses Cloud saves. I don't know what will happen if you try to boot up with a file that doesn't match your cloud save. You may have to disable cloudsave for the game for this to have any chance of working.
And, there's one additional issue:- I won't be able to ensure that I've collected all the "collectible" statues that you had collected, so even if this does work and you can continue playing, you may need to revisit old areas if you want to collect them all.
In my initial playthrough, I do remember that I first tried leaving this screen near the top of the waterline, and couldn't. I backed out of the water and had to try again: I was only able to leave the screen by diving a little deeper. In order for us to try this out I'll need to replay the game to get up to that point, go through the tunnel, and save. I can try to do that soonish, and we'll see what happens.
- In windows, navigate to:
- Make a backup copy of the file "0001.LostWinds2.Save" (on your desktop, or wherever)
- Go get my save file from Dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zjoh4vuzi4iyzwg/AAAhmi-RLbBrRugGBVrHXK1Ma?dl=0. Caps seem to matter. Feel free to run an antivirus if you like (I probably would) but I promise I'm just trying to help out here.
- Download this file directly to the same directory in Step 1 above, and replace the existing save file with this one. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR CURRENT SAVEGAME BY DOING THIS and will not be able to load it in the game. But you do have the backup from Step 2; read on.
- In Steam:
- Go to your Library,
- Find "Lost Winds 2" in the list,
- Right-click on it,
- Select "Properties" from the pop-up,
- Go to the "Updates" tab,
- Un-check the box that says "Enable Steam Cloud..."
- Click "Close" at the bottom
- Launch the game.
- On the title screen, click the icon in the lower-left corner to select loading from save slot #2. The icon is shown in this screenshot: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1782312884
- You should resume the game JUST to the right of the tunnel that you couldn't swim through.
NOTE: I had to make a decision about whether to collect Pages and Collectibles. What I tried to do was collect all Pages on the way to this point, and to avoid all Collectibles. However, 2 Collectibles were sort of unavoidable. You can hover over locations on the map to see which screens still have un-collected Collectibles. There's a collectible just to the left of where this file will start you, which I don't think I grabbed.C:\Users\<YOUR_USERNAME>\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\LostWinds2\LW2
(All save slots are stored in the same "*.save" file, so unfortunately there is no way to keep your own save in Slot #1. I hoped that might work, which is why the game you'll load is in slot #2. But you do have a backup of your old save from Step 2 above.)
This is going to force you to eventually retrace your steps (all the way to the beginning of the game) if you want all the Collectibles. Sorry about that. The alternative was that I might collect one of them that you hadn't gotten yourself, and I didn't want to take that away from you.
Hope it works, let me know if it doesn't. And, of course: I don't know if this will FIX the glitch; if you try to pass through the tunnel again, you might have the same problem again.
If you ever want to return to your old save file, take the backup you made in Step 2 and put it back into the directory in Step 1.
Would guess not but i seem to be having this issue now myself :(
I've downloaded your save might have a play around with it at somepoint (might not be until next weekend though) - will let you know how it goes.
