Voice Chat Issue
Hello, there.
So, I cannot find many references to it. Is it something that works perfectly for everyone or nobody really cares? I have never managed to listen to anyone talking, and although I find no meaning to it, it's getting awkward seeing others trying to communicate ( the three dots thing ) and I just sit there without being able to respond.

Uplay used to have some options (sound output and microphone) until recently ( I wasn't able to solve the problem), but after the last update I can find nothing related to sounds under Uplay settings, or within the game itself. I don't even know if others can listen to me. It's getting messy in general terms. Any advice?

Thank you.

Same question as op. Online I can see the sound symbol above other players, but I can't hear them. Is there some option somewhere or what do I have todo to hear other people during online sessions?

Does that work for anyone?

I once had a guy I could listen to,but only understood about half of what he was saying because it was partially laggy and in awful quality.

Hello,

For the latest Uplay update changes, please take a look here: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/1612678-Uplay-PC-Client-March-21-Update

I've seen only one other person mention this. If you have your chat setting in-game to on, it should be working. I have a feeling a lot of people just don't use the chat feature in WD2 very often which is why you never hear anyone.

However, if this is a technical issue we definitely need to know. It would be great if you could test it with a friend. Have a friend join a game with you, making sure you both have chat set to on, then see if you can hear each other?

Thanks
Thanks for the replies, guys.

Happened to me recently, so I figured it's not a problem of my output, since I managed to listen to at least one player (no clear at all).

I guess it is complicated. I don't know if they wish to try to talk or their microphone is just on by default, but I do see the three dots symbol very often. Like 7/10 times. By the way, "voice chat" is an option for you to talk, like "on" or "push-to-talk". It's not for you to be able to listen to others. Right? Is it possible the "push-to-talk" options also means "push-to-listen"? I don't think so. The "voice chat volume" is the one having to do with listening to others, and I have it at 100%.

Pretty interesting issue, though. Let's see.

That link is dead. I can't hear my friend in the game, and there is no mic settings. I have multiple audio sources. So not being able to set up voice chat is the dumbest thing to do.

Hello Carl,

Thanks for reaching out, however in future, please consider creating your own thread over reviving old, inactive ones. As information can be outdated and irrelevant by this point and we aim to keep the Discussions as up to date and relevant as possible.

If you're still having issues hearing other players, may we please know if you have any other programs running when playing?

Is your mic set as the default input device in Windows Sounds?

Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps[ubi.li] at all?
