Hell no - Watch Dogs 2 was god awful. It tried to make the game trendy by having a bunch of silly barely 'out of their teenage years' hackers with silly followers and techno-jargon. Watch Dogs 1 however was a man who was clearly experienced and DRIVEN because of revenge to right the wrongs he was seeing.
Marcus was a guy who was seen as a threat to the system of cToS, and rebelled against it - but seriously, they never took that idea as far as it could go. Having Aiden rebel against a system that was seriously interfering with peoples lives and spying on their every move was a much greater motivator to play.
Yes, it seems generic to have the one guy rebel against the system and try to tear it down in his quest for revenge, but it was a personal motivation for Aiden that drove him. Marcus was a shell of a man who just seemed to make a big deal out of everything because he could - it didn't really personally affect him in any genuine way.
You're right however, Legion was garbage... I mean, seriously garbage. Even the DLC with Aiden wasn't that great.
Most people laughed at how idiotic and ridiculous they made the protagonist and his geeky friends, and judging by your use of 'lol' and the inability to use grammar correctly, they day I take advice from you will be when I'm old and senile and unable to think for myself...
...and that's a LONG way off.
The only reason some people got on the hate train for the 1st Watch Dogs game is because Ubisoft downgraded the graphics and the NPC AI. Watch Dogs 2 was as cheesy as a Margherita pizza... and the main antagonist of WD 2 was just pathetic. A rich tech mogul who never fired a weapon, and could barely raise his voice... GIVE ME A BREAK. At least with WD:L they tried to take the concept of Government watching and suppressing their people through the removal of their freedoms through terrorism and a powerful army (which WD 2 slightly touched on, except it was big corporations stiffing the public) and move it in a more serious tone.
I mean, the whole I'm a barely 20-something hacker who seems to have no aversion (for some unknown reason) for killing people (you're literally handed many guns to just massacre people if you want to go for that, because the stealth system is broken) and no sense of remorse is just pitiful and not thought out properly. At least Aiden Pearce has reason why he's so vengeful and loathing, and how he justifies the need to kill those who get in his way because he's a vigilante.
Also... SURELY that has to be a typo... 12000 hours???
It would have been great if a lot of the missions HEAVILY relied on specific users. You need a construction worker to get in and out of somewhere without raising the alarm, free a prisoner from a police station without alerting the other officers. Play on the concept of using their careers to go stealthy... but most of them can be done using a single NPC. Once you get the Assassin, why do you really need anyone else?
Every NPC can also get 2 guns as well if I'm not mistaken (it's been months since I last played it), so the 'shell' of the NPC is almost irrelevant. The only decent mission was where you had to sneak in as British guard to a London castle... the rest can pretty much be played by any NPC and it almost doesn't matter which one you use.
At least Hitman uses this idea to its strength, and certain disguises really do allow for specific things you can get access to, mission stories you can follow. It didn't play by its strengths.
I like the whole series. Each brings something different. I wasn't keen on the nostalgia elements of Legion, bringing back old characters.
What would be interesting to know; which elements from each would make a better future game?
They've got the locations done well, and I like the stealth options. It takes more planning and time but is satisfying . You can carry out a whole mission and not be discovered. Which is really how hackers try to operate.
Also the play as anyone concept was interesting with the playable characters who lived their lives independently. The idea of a game mirroring a future possible reality, in terms of surveillance, tracking, auto drones and internment. It is apposite.
I think it would be good if they updated from what now seems the 'arcady' game play and maybe incorporate something similar to the Nemesis system narrative generator.
WD1 had a good 'revenge' involving story and maybe what the next WD's needs is that engrossing narrative for the protagonist. It's not easy to pull off in a game.
Because of nonsense that entices complaining. Criticism is one thing, but folks love to ♥♥♥♥♥ up a storm on forums. Most people just play and don't get wrapped up in what people talk about. Millions of sales. A few thousand whiny forum posts. There's an obvious insignificance there.
weird how WD2 is the only one on steam with a playerbase that can be tracked huh? go online in legion you wont find anyone but the same two brazillian kids, go online in 1 and you wont find nearly anyone.
So this is just another Legion diss thread. What didn't you like about Legion?
Why don't you try telling us why WD2 is the best in your opinion.
