Game won't go past the splash screen

Most of the times it just closes right after, but sometimes it sas that the achievements couldn't be syncronized, and doesnt matter which button I press next, I still doesnt open the game.

I've already reinstalled easy anti cheat and the game itself twice now, how do I fix this? It started right after I bought 2 dlcs for it, because last month the game was opening with no problems idk. Please help!

Dang... I'm on ubi support on discord, but they are way too slow and clueless on how to actually fix this and help us out. If you want to keep in contact so we can share our progress towards getting a fix to this, it would be very nice. There is literally no reason whatsover for this to be happening, I'm pretty sure this is a error on their part.

I'm glad you got yours fixed, but there's no wd2 folder on the documents tab for me...

deleting the wd2 folder from the documents helped only partially, now it crashes after 5 minutes of the game (

try to delete the ubisoft installer and the eac folder in the root folder of the game.

I was told that you can try to expand the screen rather than full screen

~~Nothing worked for unfortunately. There's no "WD2_GamerProfile.xml" file since I never had the game before, and the game crashes at splash screen. Tried deleting the EAC and UBISoft launcher to no avail. Disabled my internal GPU, disconnected the large screen, also to no avail. Not sure what to do next. I would love to play the game and I have all the DLCs, but it's a complete waste to own something that doesn't work.~~

Read somewhere to try to run the game main .exe using administrator rights. went to game folder, under "bin", found "WatchDogs2.exe". Right-clicked and chose to run as Administrator. This caused the UBI connect app to launch. Asked me about CD Keys!!! Canceled and exited the app. Read somewhere again that we should bind our steam and UBISoft accounts. Couldn't find out how to do it. Someone said that we should get a DLC that does that. Another said that the game should do it for us. Went back to Steam and ran the game, and it worked. After the splash screen I got the UBI connect launcher telling me that it would bind both accounts, and the game started. But I did get another error dialog in-game while showing splash screens of all the DLCs about EasyAntiCheat not being installed and that multi-player and online activities would be disabled until I install it. But who gives a sh*t about online stuff for a game this old anyway. So, yeah, it worked after directly running the game main .exe file as Administrator, and then running it normally from Steam.

I'm pretty sure my ubi acc is already binded to my steam account, and I've already been running the main .exe as administrator... I'm glad you got yours to work tho! but the issue still remains here...

Just wanted to update that it didn't work a second time. All symptoms remained. Tried everything back and forth and with different combinations or variables. Nothing worked. I had WD2 on UBISoft Connect before but not with as many DLCs, so I thought I might just install it and see if it, too, crashes. Surprised to see that Connect recognized that I had the Steam DLCs and installed those with the UBISoft version, and the game worked like a charm. Looks like this is a Steam-isolated issue.

I had the same problem, but I found the game in the root folder of the game. I checked the box “Run with administrator permission” and it started.

The only problem is that it doesn't count achievements on steam.

It is also solved by unchecking that box.

BUT I tried switching Steam from beta version and launching WD2 WORKED like a charm. I don´t know if it´s bcs of this, but it worked for me, maybe it reinstalls some problematic files after switching from another version, I don´t honestly know. I hope this will help someone!
