How do you back up save files?

I made some backups for save files after navigating to the save file location but now that I'm trying to restore them they seem to be getting overridden by the most recent save file each time.

I want to fix this.

Edit: Seems what I need to do is disable cloud save synchronization because that's the feature that says "no" to my saves when I restore them.

Fixed. I found the setting in Uplay settings to disable cloud save synchronization and did so and I have successfully restored my backup.

Leaving this topic up for any others who have this same trouble in the future.
