Should I get 1st one or can I skip it?

I am wondering on how these games are tight together and if I should get both 1 & 2 or only 2 (or 1)? And if only one of them then what would be the best one?

To my mind this what they should have made instead of the first game :D
I am just going to pretend the first one doesn't exist.

They are only connected in some ways, not by the plot but by some heroes. And the second part is much better imho but 1st is also ok.

To answer your question directly:

- No you don't have to pay Watch Dogs 1
- You can instantly Start with WD2
- If you have played WD1 you'll get a better view, since you won't understand some deep meaning behind some sidequests
- nothing is really related to the first one (haven't played DLC's of WD2 so far)


There are just a few Side quests which are relevant to WD1. Nothing major actually.

there are a few easter eggs here and there, but nothing major, skip one like I did and just watched it in youtube. I played it for a few hours and it I did not like it

As someone who bought Watch Dogs 1 on day of release I think it was decent. There's no story connection between the two. Everything is better in the 2nd game so you don't need to bother with the 1st game.

I agree. I played wd2 first and loved it. I then played wd1 and it was good, and there was no need to play 1 first.

Even so, I liked wd2 much more.

i really dont understand the haters of WD1. im still playing that game. sure its not perfect but personally i love the story and the characters. WD2 took my man Kenny and turned him into a flip flop wearing SJW! Kenny was bad ass in WD1 esspecially in his dlc.

WS1 had a very serious, dark tone - adult story where as WD2 is more kid like and fluffy.
I hate WD2, plus it runs like crap

Huh? You must have a pretty terrible computer. WD2 runs great on my 5 year old computer and even on my 5 year old laptop. I spec's them both well at the time, but still... A 5 year old computer is usually considered obsolete.

So... Any reasonably decent gaming computer should run it fine.

wow, you obviously know not of what you speak of. A simple google search would make you aware of the games horrible optimization and game engine and depending on which hardware manufacture you have that also makes a HUGE difference.

game ran fine on my 2011 build - still dont make up for that the game is still wack.

I didn't think WD1 was bad, I just finished it up a few weeks ago. I threw the 4k texture pack on it and had a good time. There were a two annoying missions that I had to google to beat, but other than that it was fine. I don't think WD1 was worth $60, but I think I paid $7 for the base game, well worth that.
