On Origin it is much cheaper than steam.
The deluxe edition is also cheaper on origin.
What should I do?

Steam!

It is Ubisoft game, which means it needs at least UPlay. Despite lot of flame, UPlay is really not bad, I actually like it. Ubisoft games are the only games I am willing to have only on UPlay and sacrifice Steam's version.

To sum this up - UPlay version is kind of required. If you will buy it on Steam, you will be able to download it via Steam, but it will require UPlay client anyway. The only point of having it on Steam is then - downloading, easier access directly to game's community forum from overlay and possibility to use dicount bundles now or in future with that game.

On the other hand, having game on Origin has no point. I mean - it gives you nothing extra. I am not sure if you are forced or not to download it via Origin then, since games bought from Steam cannot be downloaded via UPlay. So you actually risk that you loose the game if you loose access to UPlay or Steam/Origin. If you buy UPlay version only, which is usually on gray market and cheapest, you only use one client - UPlay and you can download it and play it from there.

This also bugged me. Yes, I have the game on Steam, along with Season pass but how the hell is Watch Dogs 2 season pass on Origin 67% and Steam is 50%? Is there some mentality that just "because" it's on Steam, it makes it better?

Point is, Steam has 30% cut on everything sold, while Origin probably smaller and UPlay of course zero, for Ubisoft. So this is reason why Steam is most expensive for Ubisoft games.

If you are developer and you sell your game on Steam, Steam will take approx. 30% of your income as it's cut. So your income from Steam is just around 70% (before taxes etc). If Ubisoft seel it's game on UPlay, 100% of income is for Ubisoft company. That is reason why Ubisoft games are most expensive on Steam than on it's own platform.

Same with Origin - Origin's market share is much much smaller than Steam, so Origin's cut will be also probably much smaller - which means Ubisoft get more money for games sold via Origin than on Steam and so it can make bigger discounts. 50% off on Steam and 67% off on Origin might actually be same revenue for Ubisoft.

But first u said that ubisoft earns more on games sold via origin but at the end u r saying that the revenue is the same?

Both is true ... base price for Ubisoft game is same everywhere, so Ubisoft earns more on Origin than on Steam and even more on UPlay. 3rd party resellers depends on how big cut they want, which is individual. But when sale comes, situation is different, Ubisoft tends to make bigger discount on services with bigger profit.

Well, technically yes, it is e-shop which sells games online like any other e-shop. But that is not what I said ... I meant resellers like GMG and tons of others.

Unless you want to just try the game and then refund it, get it on origin, don't use key sites they are usually untrustworthy and shady

BULL CRAP !!
Been buying games form key sites for 10 years.
Never got any issues with it, and that way saved loot of money.
Example : just got pre-orer Far Cry 5 for 35€ , currently on steam and uplay 60€

And currently the Uplay key on key sites is for 16 € for standard version.
