This is on am I5 6600k @4.4ghz and a gtx 1070.
This also proves game is not optimised.How the hell is a 1600P card like 1070 going below 60 at 1080p?
Whenever you switch between the shadow modes like PCSS>HFTS, or HFTS>PCSS it defaults back to Ultra until you exit and re-enter the game. You can tell because on Ultra the shadows are super crisp but not really lifelike. On PCSS or HFTS they are more life like where the fade out the longer the shadow is. So you're just using Ultra shadows when you do that hence the performance gain.
