Region Lock? What the hell?
I am sick of Ubisoft's policy on selling games in Russia/CIS! I get it, we have lower prices so we get only bad localizations full of grammer errors and with bad voice acting and I was rather ok with it as I always had a chance to buy normal, worldwide versions of their games from third party stores paying full price for them.

But now, Ubisoft region locked Watch Dogs 2, so I can't buy anything apart from Russian language version as any other versions (EU, US, ROW) won't let me activate them in Uplay. In the span of last two days I bought 3 different region versions of WD2 - first, EU, then ROW and then Steam Gift version, paying ~150 USD for them and still I can't play the damned game!

I don't get it guys! Ok - lock down Russian\CIS or any other low-price versions of the game so that if you by them, you can only activate them in those contries or even better , in Steam or in Uplay or in any other program. I am fine with that. Or use Blizzard's scheme there customers from Russia/CIS can upgrade their game to worldwide version by paying the difference in price. But leave full priced versions alone! There is no logic here! I am the customer, who is willing to pay more to get better product, the publisher can have bigger profit from me that way, so why am I punished for that?!

So guys, maybe there are some more people like me here and maybe you are willing to tell me were can I buy WD2 without Russian/CIS locking or maybe you are willing to cooperate and battle with this stupid policy of Ubi.

Wait, so you've paid $150 for 3 different copies and still can't play?

lol

you have 3 choices.

1. vote with your wallet and never buy ibisoft games until this policy changes.
2. deal with it.
3. google on how to get english files for the game. there are communities out there on the web that give info and links for this.

1. I think that if I choose not to buy any future productes from Ubi, they will not notice it at all, so again I will be the only loosing side.
2. I can't as it is not normal or reasonable.
3. Yes, I am aware of such method and did so with WD1, but then again - I want to buy the game with my money for its full price and I don't want to run around the net looking for needed files or to download cracked version in order to extract them. I mean this does sound stupid, no?

yeah, none of those are ideal solutions. but they are the only ones available to you.

well, there is a 4th one, but that's not something I would discuss on the official forums of a digital distribution platform with a stranger.

Yeah, and risk to be banned because of that.
