Why is there an Anti-Cheat enabled on Single Player Offline Mode?
I like to play games both the legit way and the easy way, second play throughs always go better with a little assisstance. I love using trainners to kind of speed through the grinding aspect and enjoy the immersive story process. Maybe a side quest or something I missed along the way, it really does help out.
I don't really care for multiplayer much, the co-op aspect - maybe, but the pvp aspect doesn't apeal to me much in a game like this.

I get the game is an online world. But it's not a purely online game. IE: Titanfall, Destiny, Battlefield, etc.
But If we choose to play single player in an offline mode, the anti-cheat should be disabled. And if players used trainers/cheats to give stat points to their character, whats the worst thing that can happen? They get online with a max level character?

Or the game can be patched like DragonBall Xenoverse 1 & 2, if they read any corrupted data, like more stat points than allowed, or for instance, you're max build but only level 2, then yeah, your character should be blocked from Multiplayer - in which youll have to be forced to start a new game/save.

To me, the anti-cheat is not neccessary in a single player offline mode. To be honest, there's huge community that loves to use trainers/cheats.
Look at Skyrim, the huge mod community it has for PC and is finally making its way to consoles. That speaks for itself right there.
But as a business aspect too, I know a lot of people that have refunded this game because of this reason. It really does hinder the enjoyment for a lot of players and not everyone is that great at games. Not to mention, I have kid brothers and they always want to play big brother's games. And they enjoy running around in god mode. lol.

I get games are an artistic artform and they're meant to be played the way they're made.
But in the end people are there to play in their own ways, methods, and what not.
I don't know about everyone else, but in open world titles, I like my freedom.
To do what I want, when I want, in the grounds and limitations of the game of course... just with a little assistance. That never hurt anyone else before. And it dates way back to the console days too with the game genie and game shark.
Don't limit us CTOS (Ubisoft).

This whole thread is filled with misinformation. The whole point of the topic is that OP thinks you can't use a trainer in single player because of the anti-cheat. Well YOU CAN. The game won't stop you. You just get banned if you use it online WHICH IS FAIR.

Stop spreading false information. The game only requires an internet connection to log you into uPlay and Denuvo do its thing. LIKE IT IS WITH ALL GAMES WITH DENUVO.
After that, YOU CAN REMOVE THE ETHERNET CABLE if you want. You can still play the game. You just won't be able to play online activities.
LOL, try disabling your internet and go play the game, then tell me how that worked!

Well, to the one guy comparing this game to The Division story mode; not sure you can compare the two.

Not 100% sure about Watch Dogs 2; But, The Division is made to be able to play the entire story mode with up to 4 people (you, plus 3 more). With being able to group and ungroup at any time.

Every time I have seen things about Watch Dogs 2; it has been one person playing the story missions; or when they had a couple people together they were just doing random stuff. Or made a couple missions.

Now, I could be wrong, and maybe Watch Dogs 2 is setup to do full story mode co-op. But, from what I've seen it wasn't ever shown completely that way. Where as shortly after getting into the story mode of The Division it's saying you can group up with others.

On another note: people may not like to admit this; or even know it. But, when you buy a game: you are technically paying for the right to play it. You in no way own anything. (unless you bought a physical copy of the game - then you own the disk and the box it came in)

Guys just so you know this entire thread has been orchestrated by a butt-hurt community over on a forum i stumbled on today: http://www.cheathappens.com/show_board2.asp?headID=132436&titleID=22151&onPage=1

Seems they are going to absolutely abuse the steam refund policy because their trusted trainer coder that writes the trainers was unable to break through the anti-cheat mechanism in WD2.

End result is the poster on their forum has encouraged all their other forum members to support his post on here, which is likely what most of the agreeing posts are under his main post.

Its a proper dummy spit due to them not being able to hack themselves in-game money and skills etc.. and actually have to play the game the way in which it was designed. Is this REALLY justification for a refund? i think not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got to be kidding... if not, that is low...

WD2 single player still based in a drop in/out open world so you can find other "people" in your game either officialy as hacking targets, car chases, etc. Thats why the anti cheat is there.

You can disable the online stuff from happening in the options but chances are that will get reverted back to open from time to time. Mine has re-enabled itself a couple of times in one session.

Get a game downloading and the lag with be intolerable for anyone joining your gameworld. Also makes hackers very easy to spot as they are the only ones visibly rubberbanding when they move.

Wish I had time to dub this but Im too busy playing WD2 so you will just have to replace the question,'are there any women her today?' with 'are there any online cheaters here today?' when u watch this.

A little late but,,,,,

Add " -eac_launcher" minus the quotes to the exe. target line.

"X:\Games\Watch_Dogs 2\bin\WatchDogs2.exe" -eac_launcher

Brother, I just tried to load this game as someone who loves a single player experience and i was locked out of playing it because i didn't want to download an anti cheat for a single player game.

I just exited out and uninstalled. Way too much work for a reluctant 'lets be adventurous moment'.
