Why is there an Anti-Cheat enabled on Single Player Offline Mode?
I like to play games both the legit way and the easy way, second play throughs always go better with a little assisstance. I love using trainners to kind of speed through the grinding aspect and enjoy the immersive story process. Maybe a side quest or something I missed along the way, it really does help out.
I don't really care for multiplayer much, the co-op aspect - maybe, but the pvp aspect doesn't apeal to me much in a game like this.

I get the game is an online world. But it's not a purely online game. IE: Titanfall, Destiny, Battlefield, etc.
But If we choose to play single player in an offline mode, the anti-cheat should be disabled. And if players used trainers/cheats to give stat points to their character, whats the worst thing that can happen? They get online with a max level character?

Or the game can be patched like DragonBall Xenoverse 1 & 2, if they read any corrupted data, like more stat points than allowed, or for instance, you're max build but only level 2, then yeah, your character should be blocked from Multiplayer - in which youll have to be forced to start a new game/save.

To me, the anti-cheat is not neccessary in a single player offline mode. To be honest, there's huge community that loves to use trainers/cheats.
Look at Skyrim, the huge mod community it has for PC and is finally making its way to consoles. That speaks for itself right there.
But as a business aspect too, I know a lot of people that have refunded this game because of this reason. It really does hinder the enjoyment for a lot of players and not everyone is that great at games. Not to mention, I have kid brothers and they always want to play big brother's games. And they enjoy running around in god mode. lol.

I get games are an artistic artform and they're meant to be played the way they're made.
But in the end people are there to play in their own ways, methods, and what not.
I don't know about everyone else, but in open world titles, I like my freedom.
To do what I want, when I want, in the grounds and limitations of the game of course... just with a little assistance. That never hurt anyone else before. And it dates way back to the console days too with the game genie and game shark.
Don't limit us CTOS (Ubisoft).

EDIT:
Oh, I am not allowed to link to the Cheat Happens website's forum post about this??

Anyway, here is the text:

In Watch Dogs 2, Ubisoft implemented what is called "Easy Anti Cheat" which is software designed to prevent cheating in multiplayer games. We applaud them for that. However, they also enabled it (on purpose or by oversight we don't know) in the offline single player story mode as well. This made it just about impossible to try and hack the game and/or make any kind of trainer for it. We looked at it for many hours with no luck on how to get around it without having to "crack" it or the game which we would never do.

Fortunately, today, one of our loyal Cheat Happens members named "dr8breed" provided us with a way to deactivate Easy Anti Cheat in the offline mode, and it couldn't have been easier.

All you have to do is add the -eac_launcher command line parameter to your WatchDogs2.exe shortcut and when you run it, EAC is disabled, you get a window letting you know that it is disabled along with online play. Now you can easily use our trainer (Link), our free CoSMOS gamehacking tool (Link) or any other tool to modify the game and play it the way you want to play it.

Conversations with Ubisoft support, which we have transcripts of, state that they do not condone cheating of any kind, but they elude that there will be no repercussions (such as being banned from the game) for doing so in single player offline mode only. Of course, that doesn't mean that it won't happen, that's just what we were told. As always, with any cheat in a game that has both a single and multiplayer component, especially those that allow seamless transition, you must use it at your own risk.

Here is a screenshot showing how to add the command-line shortcut to your game:

Here is an image of what you will see when it is properly disabled:

Please note that our trainer will do this for you by you simply selecting where you have the game installed.

To other trainer makers and websites: We could have chosen to keep this information a secret for our own benefit, but we chose to release it to the public so that everyone can have a chance to cheat the game in their own way. If you decide to incorporate it into a trainer of your own, please just give us the respect of mentioning where you found the solution and especially give credit to "dr8breed" for providing it.

Thanks and happy cheating!

Only way to do this would be that you choose between OFFLINE ONLY or ONLINE/OFFLINE when you create your save. Near nobody would make an offline save only to be godmod during 10min and then get bored of it.

Why is it like this? Quite simple if they trainer & cheats able in offline people will find a way to bring them in multiplayer. There's an anti-cheat so how would that be possible? Ok so maybe it's not possible, then people cheating in offline would go online (by accident) and then get ban for cheating. Lots of problems for a fiew category of people playing godmod for 10min and then stop playing.

The other thing to keep in mind is that most of the people asking for a cheating possibility, are thinking about cheating online too (90% or so, even if no one will say here: "YEAH I WANNA CHEAT").

Smartest move would be to do something like in AC:BlackFlag where there was in-game cheat to activate, so people can select the cheat they want and they stay offline while cheating.

In my point of view an in-game cheat would be something great for every single game. On playstation there was cheat implemented cause it was fun, why not doing the same with all those new games? Still it's a good thing they made something serious this time about cheats, too many ubisoft games that were totally broken cause of cheaters. On example i've in mind: "The Division", when in the Beta there was allready aimbot + ESP + Wallhack and all those things. Good work Ubi on this game!

The game is not tremendiously difficult on the easy difficulty setting , and if someone can't handle that then perhaps video games are not for them. A trainer is unnessicary.

I think it is possible that some people who want to cheat at games can be potentially handi-capped, etc.

I guess some people potentially play games with only one hand/arm, etc.

Some people possibly cannot think or react as fast as other people.

On the other hand, some people possibly do it to exploit games and have as much fun as possible without dying, etc - ie jumping off skyscrapers and stuff like that and just jumping in a car and driving off.

It's about personal enjoyment really.

Doing this will most likely get you a ban form Ubisoft. They do not want you disabling their anti cheat software.

This anti cheat thing is also blocking RTSS from Afterburner. If you are using version 6.3 then you are ok since it is inside the whitelist. However any above that it will not works.

There is a reason you should NOT cheat in life. You will become a criminal and we all know criminals go to jail.
What will your mom say? You will be in jail and people will say to your mom, "your son was a cheater cheater pumpkin eater".

Just don't cheat simple, don't cheat, I repeat, don't cheat.
You think it's neat to cheat as some kind of defeat against some guy possibly called Pete who has to greet 10 years of jail obsolete?
I am telling you now, before you cheat, go to church and confess, it's better this way

God bless you

If you don't want to play online, then it shouldn't bother you that you're banned from online.

You're free to cheat on single player, but you can't play online then, it is fair.

But they didn't said anything about a Third party software and this is not a native multiplayer game, so no it's not as simple as "Don't play it if you don't like" I don't want to play it anymore but I've been fooled, and I don't like being fooled.

Its an all the time multiplayer game. So if you where not aware of that which was well known. Its your fault for not researching it further.
So basically, if you are lacking an internet connection or lost your internet connection you can't(/no longer) player the game?
IAcousticI 30 nov, 2016 @ 14:27

The problem is if you get banned you wont be hable to play the game at all as it is a "always online game". This game works just like The Division, its always online!
I can confirm that is not true, you simply can't take part in online activities.

Single player resources impact multiplayer, and with multiplayer being drop in drop out I can see why this measure was taken, not a game to cheat with unless they enforce a single player only save file type or something.

And im 100% sure that you are wrong, multiplayer and singleplayer are together, you can be doing story missions and some player invades your session to hack you, it can happen at anytime, just happened to me yesterday was going for a mission and then i got a warning that another player was hacking me! This game is all online, just like The Division, and thats the new Ubisoft policy from now on to do these type of games always online where multiplayer and singleplayer are mixed, Ghost Recon Wildlands will be the next!
Stop spreading false information. The game only requires an internet connection to log you into uPlay and Denuvo do its thing. LIKE IT IS WITH ALL GAMES WITH DENUVO.
After that, YOU CAN REMOVE THE ETHERNET CABLE if you want. You can still play the game. You just won't be able to play online activities.
