What I feel like should have been implemented is if you tap it, it's lethal, and if you hold the takedown button instead it would do a non-lethal takedown.
And all the heavy guns and murder-abilities seem a bit much for DedSec and marcus escpecailly. It made some sense with Aiden, but in most playstyles it makes Dedsec seem more like a genocidal Terrorist organization than a group of 20 year olds nerding out in the basement of a comic book shop trying to make a statement.
If you read the "Know It All" application in your smartphone in-game, it shows that the thunderball can be lethal and non-lethal at certain times.
It's confusing as hell since nobody really reads these tutorials, the devs should have really made it more clear but instead they tossed that info somewhere not everybody would look at.
Anyways here's your answer. When you're in complete stealth, your takedowns will be non-lethal and won't kill any guards or whoever you takedown. However once you fully get spotted and enter combat, all your takedowns will be lethal and will kill the enemy, that explains why sometimes when you takedown a certain enemy, blood comes out from their skull or whatever.
So basically stealth takedowns = non-lethal, loud takedowns = lethal.
Use the taser or these non-lethal weapons from the dlcs if you don't want anybody dead but got spotted, or just stun them, that's what I normally do.
Exactly, I never understood how Aiden didn't seem to try and track this group down (He still seems very spry in taking down a human trafficking ring miles away from Chicago itself, but not with investigate this oddball, knock-off version of DedSec) considering how much they've done so far...but they did saved him, so I think he'll be more grateful just to monitor the group at best just to see if they go so far as to kill (more) innocent...but T-Bone (He was the reason Aiden was still around til this day) also did stay with this group, so I can't completely blame them
Well in terms of canon, there is no mention of marcus actually killing anyone, or not killing anyone for that matter.
