Does the Thunderball kill people?
It looks like the melee executions does, seeing as to how most people whom got choked to (almost?) certain death stay there forever, completely motionless regardless if there wasn't any lethal guns involved.

It just leaves the question if somethings can be or can't be killed in this game...which I think is very cool, though, I hope this doesn't tie to a sequel on the fact that Marcus might be a serial killer at his best.

(On a side note: I can't believe some enemies can take 5 shots to the head, regardless if there was an opening to the face. I guess bullet sponging is a no brainer in this game)

I wonder the same thing, and I don't think anyone really has an answer. I like to tell myself it's non-lethal, since I'm as pacifistic as you can get in WD2, but it's really down to individual interpretation.

What I feel like should have been implemented is if you tap it, it's lethal, and if you hold the takedown button instead it would do a non-lethal takedown.

And all the heavy guns and murder-abilities seem a bit much for DedSec and marcus escpecailly. It made some sense with Aiden, but in most playstyles it makes Dedsec seem more like a genocidal Terrorist organization than a group of 20 year olds nerding out in the basement of a comic book shop trying to make a statement.

Actually, there is.
If you read the "Know It All" application in your smartphone in-game, it shows that the thunderball can be lethal and non-lethal at certain times.
It's confusing as hell since nobody really reads these tutorials, the devs should have really made it more clear but instead they tossed that info somewhere not everybody would look at.
Anyways here's your answer. When you're in complete stealth, your takedowns will be non-lethal and won't kill any guards or whoever you takedown. However once you fully get spotted and enter combat, all your takedowns will be lethal and will kill the enemy, that explains why sometimes when you takedown a certain enemy, blood comes out from their skull or whatever.
So basically stealth takedowns = non-lethal, loud takedowns = lethal.
Use the taser or these non-lethal weapons from the dlcs if you don't want anybody dead but got spotted, or just stun them, that's what I normally do.

Exactly, I never understood how Aiden didn't seem to try and track this group down (He still seems very spry in taking down a human trafficking ring miles away from Chicago itself, but not with investigate this oddball, knock-off version of DedSec) considering how much they've done so far...but they did saved him, so I think he'll be more grateful just to monitor the group at best just to see if they go so far as to kill (more) innocent...but T-Bone (He was the reason Aiden was still around til this day) also did stay with this group, so I can't completely blame them

I only see the Melee Combat (And it shows nothing of lethal or non-lethality, only loud and quiet) in the "Know It All" application last time I checked, are you sure it's somewhere in here or did you got the wrong information?

Well in terms of canon, there is no mention of marcus actually killing anyone, or not killing anyone for that matter.

Wrong info? New term for me. There it is, I logged into the game just to screenshot it for you http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1095730347

So...it´s basically non-lethal,considering how it says Knockout and Non-Lethal Takedown.

It could just be made-up from the official news, and you know how Ubisoft portrays DedSec in this game in terms of their relationship with corporate groups...either way, it's still kind of nice to know that some people can be or can't be killed (even if it just in my mind as well), I mean the protagonist from Fallout: New Vegas can survived a 1911 modified Pistol to the head (I'm not sure about bigger guns though, but there is a problem of shooting a body repeatedly though, especially with smaller guns)
