In summary, you tried lots of random things, and in some cases with little understanding of what you were doing? For example, trying to unzip the mods is usually bad unless you know what you are doing.
actually i found that out after 3 hours of head scratching much to my elation and dismay , sometimes it is all too easy to overlook occam's razor.
Actually no, I did certain steps in a certain order , nothing was random
and this wasn't my first rodeo in modding , i have extensive experience in modding the sims and also previous FS games. ( not actually creating mods, mind you. but downloading and using)
it just so happens that I do , and nothing bad happens , everything works fine and was a simple oversight on my part.
the issue is solved and I wish to preserve this topic for posterity .
