mod help for FS17

Hello , for the first time today I decided to download a few mods from inside the game client ( Under the Mod category)



the first few were straight up tractor mods that I had absolutely no Issues or problems with.



The last was a package mod, which does not show up or exist once I am " In game"

Before giving technical advice, please consider that I have already taken the following steps to no avail.

Ensuring that the mod was indeed installed in the Mod folder of FS 17



Unpacking / extracting all contents of the mod into said folder .



running the game with just that one mod activated



uninstalling and re-installing said mod package



restarting the FS 17 Application .



verifying FS 17 Game files.



restarting my PC



finding and downloading the same package mod from mod hub, unpacking/unzipping it in the correct MODS folder.



starting a new save game on all available maps



all steps noted above were taken in various combinations and orders , with no appearance of the equipment in game

the actual problem , the package promises the use of excavators in game , none are found in the store , under any category .

The mod in question .." Excavator liebherr 902 pack "

Further more there were no instructions provided along with the package, and could not find anything on google other than a useless youtube video announcing the development of it.


The only step that I have not and will not take - altering the XML description file .



any suggestions other than altering the XML file are appreciated and welcome.



on a side note: I really don't understand how this mod has such a high rating of approval since it's so damned hard to get to work

Solved on my own accord

in the store / Vehicle menu instead of searching by category, search by brands ( this is done by pressing the arrows on screen), it was under Liebherr .

I was curious and installed the mod. The mod can also be found in the shop under the Misc category.

In summary, you tried lots of random things, and in some cases with little understanding of what you were doing? For example, trying to unzip the mods is usually bad unless you know what you are doing.

actually i found that out after 3 hours of head scratching much to my elation and dismay , sometimes it is all too easy to overlook occam's razor.

Actually no, I did certain steps in a certain order , nothing was random

and this wasn't my first rodeo in modding , i have extensive experience in modding the sims and also previous FS games. ( not actually creating mods, mind you. but downloading and using)

it just so happens that I do , and nothing bad happens , everything works fine and was a simple oversight on my part.

the issue is solved and I wish to preserve this topic for posterity .
