Hour counter ?
Why do i have an hour counter near my speed counter ? What does it do ?

It's like an odometer for a car. Farming and construction equipment are rated in "hours used" rather than total miles driven like in a car. For example, my car has 93,000 miles on it, but my forklift I drive at work has 12,000 hours of running time on it. Hope that makes sense, lol.

The main reason for this is that maintenance on passanger cars is done in miles of use, where most diesel vehicles are in hours of use. Also most farm implaments towed behind farm tractors have fairly short maintence cycles as short as every 2 hours. The tractor hour meter is useful for knowing when implement maintence is due as well.

Beauty is tractors last way longer than cars lol. My '48 8N is still running strong.

Though the growing season is just a 'smidge' shorter than the real world too.
