FARMING TABLET

How to open the farming tablet? i press CTRL Y.. CTRL X nothing works? do i need to buy it first or how it works?

press ctrl-z i think . and you buy the apploadinghouse(?) to load it up . then buy apps in it.

ctrl & z together, but it only seems to work if you're not in a vehicle ("E" to enter or leave any vehicle) Apps are bought "In app" assuming that they have been enabled. There is a building under placeables in the shop for charging your tablet, you need to go inside, place your tablet in the charging cradle and wait for it to charge up. I have no idea how long charging takes but you probably have time to do one or two little jobs that always seem to need doing.

Is using the tablet worth the hassle? I've seen it in the mod hub but never looked into it.

On large maps which you are not familiar with yet it will show you where factory/production facilities are as well as what input they take. Also some of the large maps have mulitple silo/storage locations which are not linked. If you are looking at Silo 1 you cannot see what is in other locations. The mod allows you to see quantities map wide.

There are several "apps" you can load into the "phone" which give information about animals, production, storage, field size and prices.

So it's purely to give you information? You cannot control anything with it?

As I understand it, that is correct. It is modeled as a Smart Phone which you carry with you. If you are on one side of your property you can see information on the other side without having to drive over there. Not unrealistic in any way in my opinion.

There is also a mod (unrelated) which lets you place a "cell/radio" tower which could be considered the emitter for the information.

I have a wi-fi'd house, garage door, tvs and computers. Makes sense to me.
