I think it's doubtful due to the uncertainty of mods. PC may have a lot more range and be less restricted.

But why does it say cross-platform then? And what I have heard is that xbox one also uses Windows 10 so that thay can have all The mods

When it says cross-platform on Steam it is between PC and Mac.

cross platform in this case means Windows / Mac.

Maybe I'm wrong. I'd assume the XBox environment, while having mods, is somewhat more of a 'walled garden' than the PC.

On the other hand FS isn't a competitive game so it's usually no big deal if one player has access to mods that another can't use.

Competitive or not all players must have the mods / DLC that are being used on the mp server before they can join

Ok, the question is will all the same mods be available for XBox that you could get on PC.

No, mods that rely on scripts such as Drive Control or Course Play, will not be on console. This is a restriction imposed by MS/Sony. Console players can only download mods from Giants in game modhub while PC users can download from third party sites, again a restriction imposed by MS/Sony. Mods for unlicensed equipment, such as John Deere and Claas are not going to be allowed on the Giants modhub. These mods will likely show up on third party sites but will only be available to PC users.

I'm pretty sure Microsoft said that cross platform means people will be able to play games together irrespective of whether you're playing on an Xbox One or PC because both are using Windows 10. This is what Microsoft are working towards. The first experiment I believe was with Minecraft Windows 10 Edition as opposed to the old Java based Minecraft which is nearing it's shelf life.

MS does want that, but FS17 is not being distributed by MS. XBone / PC Win10 for FS may happen some day but it's not what Giants meant by cross platform

Hence why cross platform console >> PC could be complicated. Unless multiplayer games are only able to use mods from modhub.

I feel sorry for console owners of FS17 personally... they paid more money than PC, and get less product... why anyone would do that to themselves is beyond me.

Haha. I actually play it on console right now. (And I bought it with the season pass).

I personally don't mind it so much. I know it costs more and is a bit limited. My PC has a Gtx 1080 and a i7 4790k in it. I can play just about anything I want on it, but I've got plenty of games I love playing on PC, but hardly any console games I enjoy very much.

I really just like being able to play a game conveniently laying in bed and relaxing. That's about the only reason I play console on it. I don't like to "throw money around" so to speak, but I may buy it for PC eventually if I start feeling too limited. But quite frankly, if I'm going to sit at my desk to play a game, I'm probably gonna be playing Minecraft or something.

Edit: moved a sentence.

Soo true. I have a PC that can run anything on ultra but I get alot of games on console. I'll pay extra to 'lay and play' :)
