Icons for sowing machines
I'm sure this is a dumb newb question. When I am sowing a field, the "control panel" has three gauges beside the speedometer. The first is obviously fuel for the tractor. Another has an icon matching the chosen seed type, so I'm assuming it's the amount of seed I have left. The last has an icon that looks like a bag with a leaf on it; it decreases as I sow, but more slowly than the seed. What is that measuring?

fertalizer, that sower fertilzes as it sows, so you only have to fertilize the feild 2 more times after that (if you have the 3 step system active.

(additional fertalizer steps are not nescerry, but they do increase crop yeild)

Ah, that's handy. Thanks!

In that case, say I grow a crop of oilseed radishes, plow it under, then sow something with a fertilizing sower. Does that mean the field is already fertilized two out of three times?

i have not touch the radishes yet, but i do beleive thats how it works, also dont know if you plow it or cultivate it.

i believe this counts for the 3 step fertilizer set up.
step1-radish step2-seed/fertilizerer step3-fertilizer

There is also an engine hour meter there that displays how long you used the vehicle with the engine running. Maintenance costs go up when the engine runs more hours and the sell value will go down.

That is why you will have to sell old vehicles in FS17 when they become unprofitable where in FS15 you could use them as long as you liked, with only a fixed cost per day.

Many vehicles in RL that have engines running without nessesarely moving, vehicles that cannot or do not count traveled distance or stationary enignes have engine hour meters, to show when it needs maintenance or needs to be replaced.
