fs-uk.com - they test the mods before they are published and does a mod "checklist" of whats working or not..
giants own mod site - test mods too..
modhoster.com - doesnt test mods so you need to be a bit more vary of what you use.. not that they arent safe to use, but they can be badly made as everyone can upload their mods regardless of how little they know about modding = you can have a ♥♥♥♥ mod that ruins your savegame..

Yeah I like all those site too, I also think he may mean like those sites were you have to click different things on different pages. I have figured out were to click and stuff being a web dev. But Yeah just use these site these guys say and get add block, which doesn't always help with the weird clicky sites. There is also the in game mod downloader you may or not have noticed.

Another one that i had forgotten and i used a lot in FS13/15 is fsportal.hu
Have had some mods that i had never seen before and some of the more common ones too.. It stopped updating daily, but its still a good site.. its since gotten an english version which is nice as it was a bit of a pain using google translate all the time in the beginning to figure out what was what..
