Better Seed and Fertiliser System Please
Hey Devs,

Loving most of the new features compared to 13 & 15, but the manual loading of pallets is a bit of a game breaker for me. It's just too tedious for such a small amount of liters of product.

The old system worked well enough, so i would love to see it come back, or even slightly changed. E.g When your grain pallet runs out or you fertiliser tank, you can order more and an automated delivery truck refills the tank/pallet. Remember the old milk truck?

Or another option, a silo system. Fertilizer and seed can be purchased and loaded at a silo station either into wagons and or into seeders. or even be able to use a portion of your stored crop to replant. again a silo system here would work.

Or making the pallet fork system easier, like a automatic pickup when your close enough and automatic unloading with a snap on/ lock on, type system.

Please Devs make some change or addition to this, as this part is just not enjoyable to play at the moment.

Good job with many of the other new features though.

There is a mod available on the in-game mod hub where you can place down silos for seed and fertiliser, however I believe the price is x2.2 if you buy direct from silos rather than buying bags.

There is a mod in the modhub that gives you placeable buy points for seeds and fertlizer but they cost you more than if you got them from the store.

The Sosnovka map has these buy points on your farm from the start, they did not remove them but again it cost more than buying the items from the store.

I agree and the placeable refill prices are too high for my liking (2.2 ^ should be more like 1.5).

Perhaps larger refill pallets of 2k, 5k, 10k or whatever or a place to fill tanks/tippers. I agree the constant refill trips are getting tedious, maybe wont be so bad when I get courseplay. I also had an idea of the store doing deliveries that cost extra and come daily or whatever.

Fun though apart from this little aspect.

Absolutely disagree. I love how it's done in new version. It's fun to load pallets on a bale trailer and it seems more realistic than having an unlimited pay-to-refill spot at your base. Always considered it ridiculous in FS15.

Waiting for the autoload trailer mod
Greenman Nov 6, 2016 @ 5:48am
Agree about it being unrealistic and not saying I dont like loading, but I could only fit around 10 on my trailer and was using them up so fast - I tried stacking but for me it did not work. I only started using the refill stations when I became bored of the driving back and forth - but those are too expensive even.

Mostly now I just put my fert spreaders on one tractor and drive there buy the pallets and fill it up on the tractor then return.

Ill try stacking - its not that the loading isnt fun, its just I had to do it too frequently and it became a chore.

there is a mod if you dont mind loading but want to do it less. http://www.farming2015mods.com/farming-simulator-2017-mods/fs17-other/fs17-pallet-x-v-1-2/

The thing is people moaned that in 15 the infinite refill was unrealistic, now they make it the right way people moan, poor old giant's can't win

+1

Not to mention this is MUCH better for logistics once your farm gets large.
Used to HATE having to drive sowers/sprayers back to the farm to refill on seed/fert. Now you can deliver pallets directly to the areas being worked.

I also like that the placables are a much higher cost for these.....just like in real life, you pay extra for convinence.
Gallon of milk is $3 at the market, almost $5 at the corner store...

there are a couple of things you can do, you can basically dump the palletes into a tipper and then empty them at your farm or wherever you want but you will need a shovel to load them into the sower. you can also load up an auger wagon with either seed or solid fert and use that to load a sower. I just tried it and it works but it seemed like there was a sweet spot for the auger to work right, it has to be pretty precise.
I would like to see larger pallets, at least for the seeds. as it is now, I will load up about 8 on the flatbed then back at the farm I will either try to flip the trailer to drop them or ram them off with a fork and just push the pallets into the stall where the first ones were stored. I don't usually pick them up to load them, just back the sower up and use the prompt.
I don't mind the new system, it gives you more stuff to do while waiting for a harvest, it might get annoying down the road but by then I should have enough income to just say screw it and use the placable mod. IDK yet.

Please don't gimp the game, keep it as is.
Manny4Play Nov 6, 2016 @ 7:44am
At marhu mod web site I found a really good mod. With it you can buy seeds and fertilizer saks and can handle with hands. Filing the machinery with hands and transport with trucks or tippers. Take a look.

The constant refil is not how real farmers obtain seeds, and 1 seed does not plant multiple crop types in real life. Most aspects of the game are not realistic, because it is a game. Just hoping for a bit better gaming experience. I'll have a look at the mods in the hub.

there are plenty of ways to deal with the issues you are having with out having to use placeables, and in the end you should not really be using those bags long term any way, they are a good stop gap measure during the beginning before you get some livestock up and running, which will give you all the free and easy to move fertilizer you could need.
