Who would have known? :p
The field state and missions switch and change pretty quickly, so leaving the game and coming back might give you totally different missions.
Look at it as your neighbors farms doing their thing, even when you're not in game. hehe
As long as your reputation didn't decrease, it does state that mission progress will not be saved upon quitting. New missions also become available as the fields stages progress. After fertilizing, there's usually no mission available until the next growth stage.
The fields may reset every time you load up the save. I haven't checked into it, honestly. There's nothing special about doing the missions that is required from the game other than do one mission for each of the farmers for an achievement. Apart from that, it's just accessible ways to make income when you mismanage your funds or need some additional money. As long as your reputation isn't resetting, I see no problems.
If I didn't address it, you'll probably need to be more descriptive. Your post is very vague and seems more like a statement than a problem. If the reputation is resetting for some reason, you'll probably want to post it on the technical support thread.
I was confused because you said the field had "no missions available", but it did when you came back. haha. sorry.
