You can increase the in game time by hitting 8 and decrease it with 7. If you increase it to maximun then the game time will run 2 minutes in 1 second BUT beware that this won't accelerate your vehicles. At the lowest speed the game runs at real time so, 24 hours in game are, literally, 24 hours in real life.

On normal growth time I believe some crops take something like 20-24 in game hours to grow.

depends on what speed you have the game time and growth.

Odd, they should have grown by now. What does the information map says on their growth state?

Press scape, the map should show you the crops planted on every field, as well as points on the map and vehicles. On the right of the map you can change the information map to growth state.

Maybe this is obvious, but I want to ask it, did you cultivate the field and then planted with a seeder the field after the harvest?

I done it before... Does the harvester not plant the seeds out the back no?

No, they don't. The harvester only takes the fruit you planted, you need a cultivator and a seeder to work on the field, then you can optionally fertilize it to increase yield (unless you have the 3 stages active so you will need to make more work on the field on every growth stage and receive the complete bonus, I believe is better to desactivate this if learning to play) You first work the field with the cultivator and then plant it with a seeder, allowing you to choose what you want to grow there. Make sure you plant something your harvester can actually harvest, which you can know by pressing "P" then going to garage at the bottom and looking at the header. There are tutorials in game to teach you how to play.

oh this is the best reason for not growing haha

Oh, and btw. That thing the harvester throws when you are harvesting wheat or barley is straw, you can pick it up with a tool which name I can't remember right now on english, they are not seeds. You can turn this feature of the harvester on and off if you want so it doesn't throw it everywhere whenyou still cannot do anything with it.
