Farm Sim 2017 No Utility Trailer?
I am new to Farming simulator 2017. However, I've been a farmer my whole life. I have enjoyed this game for the last week or 2 since it came out and I honestly only have 1 problem with the game. Why would you not be able to buy utility trailers to haul around a fork-lift or front-end loader? When you buy pallets, how do you transport them to your farm? And even when you figure this out, you come to the realization that you need a fork-lift at every location to load and unload material. How un-practical and un-realistic is that? I've managed to download a mod for a trailer that will allow me to at least haul pallets, but I'm not going to buy a fork-lift for the shop, farm, each animal pen, etc at 50k a pop. Am I missing something?

Load said forklift onto trailer...
OR
Do what most do..use a tractor with frontloader arm to haul the trailer, detach trailer, load/unload, hook back up and go to unload point.
A majority of the tractors ingame can be modded at the shop to take a frontloader arm.

There are also 2 lowboy trailers for hauling heavy equipment.

Use Auger wagons to haul Seed / Fertilizer around. I use a low bow and load two wagons on there full of fertilizer and seed with the pipes out and fill seeders / dry fertilizers that way.

Our farm uses alot of slurry which is what we mostly use, so we load up a lowboy with seed in an auger wagon. If we have to buy pallets we use the hay trailer (Flatbed) go to the shop with a payloader and load the trailer full and haul around with semi.

You dont need a forklift everywhere you go, we keep ours at the shop and it stays there. You can strap loads too by pressing "R" net to the trailer.

This is our utility trailer we haul around as needed.

There are trailers for hauling equipment. But they are 5th wheel, so your little pickup can't haul them, but the big trucks can.

Hey Giants these exist! https://mtshvto369-flywheel.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/GV14.jpg

Also there are things called Hitch risers and Leaf Spring helpers for trucks so they don't slam into the ground..

Lack of 5th wheel pickup in modern farming game is kinda sad if you think about it.

The pickups will take a 5th-wheel dolly.
Though, you wont be able to tow anything big with em.

Plenty of hauling option already ingame.
Even playing pure vanilla you have option to tow any goods, and every peice of equipment ingame.

The OPs only problem is thinking he has to have a dedicated load/unload option at each spot, and this is not the case.

I just bought the game, so I don't know if this is the best way, but I just used a bale trailer and hauled it with a front loader equipped tractor. It held quite a bit of seed and fertilizer.

5th Wheel Pickup exists in Farming. Dually Trucks exist other then a Tractor and Trailer setup. Flatbeds for Skid Loaders are common place where I live. I live in the Grain/Farm Belt of the United states.

And as for the trucks can't even handle simple wagon tongues without hitting the dirt in the rear hard. Very unrealistic for Tandom Axle wagons if you ask me.

Yes, in real life you can get a pickup with a 5th wheel hitch. In game you can't. And those pickups cannot haul these big trailers anyway. You need a gooseneck trailer because of the bed.

As Syd said, you could use a dolly. But the truck is so weak it's not worth it, plus it's a pain to reverse a dolly. Just get the semi and have fun

Rarely see a Farmer with a Big Rig hauling trailers and farm equipment because the licensing involved in hauling those things with a Big Rig.

This is a Simulator. Simulation is ment to mimic real life.

Did you really think you were buying a machine? I understand now why you're so confused. You might be eligible for a refund.
