We cut down one tree, saved the game and then sold it, it sold for around 500. Then we closed and re-opened the game and converted the same exact tree into wood chips, and those sold for around 900.
All of this was done directly at the sawmill.
Keep in mind, this was on normal mode and we only tried one tree, not sure if more trees would net a different result.
Keep in mind that chips price will drop down after each load you deliver and logs price won't from what i know.
This is a very good point, I looked up the exact dollar amounts we tried and it was 591.00 for the tree by itself and 969.00 for the chips at a price of 176.00. So this could vary greatly depending on what chips were selling for.
We cleared a small area, around 20 trees, using chainsaw and hand feeding the chipper. Hauled the chips to the sawmill.
Then we did the same 20 trees on a reload, using the bigger logging equipment, and hauled the logs to the mill. The chips sold for more, although it took about 1/3 longer to process the same 20 trees.
Chip prices do fluctuate, but at the same time, the loggine equipment is much higher in price.
