Sunflower-only headers.
Is there a reason to use the sunflower only header instead of the corn/sunflower headers?

Able to harvest at a faster speed.

9 mph vs. 6 mph

Hmm, well that seems like a lot of cost for a few MPH lol.

You mean a 50% increase in harvest speed? Your call. I know what I'm gonna spend my money on at least.

Exactly, 50% isn't really enough to justify spending and extra 50 grand.

Ok, I did some testing using field 21, a Quasar F4, and a Helianthus 5700. I havested with the Quasar and got 6300 yield and then reloaded and harvested with the Helianthus and got 6500 yield. So, there appears to be a 3% yield bonus for using the Helianthus, I guess it is more efficient as separating the seed from the flower.

That combined with the extra speed makes it a little more worth it.

That's interesting...before I challenge it, let me ask you a question.

Did you save with a field that was ready to be harvested and test each header?

What I mean is, did you save the game, harvest the field and check the yield with one header, load the saved game, harvest with the other header and then check the yield on that?

Because in every single test I have run this way, the heads came out exactly the same. One is faster, but the yield doesn't change. And if you read the guides others have posted, they get the same results.

If you tested a field then planted and tested another field, something changed in the planting process...

If you tested the exact same field ready to be harvested with a loaded save...then I am very curious how you manged to get different results from the same field.

I tested the same field, same planting. I just reloaded the game and switched headers. I tested it twice. The numbers were nearly exact (within 5 units) on the first and second tests for each respective header.

Now I am wondering if a mod is affecting our numbers which is why we always match...I shall find out.

Thanks for the reply!

Well I have a few mods installed too, but almost all of them are either from giants or are vehicles/tools (which I wasn't using in the test). The only script mod I have is commodity prices and Follow Me. I can't imagine those two would change yield numbers.
