RAR file download

Trying to download the North Frisian March map but it'll only download as A 839MB RAR file instead of a compressed file and won't run. Is there a way to convert it at all?
Can't find a mod download of it which is a compressed zip file as normal.

its probably because theres the map comes with more mods for it.. just look in the rar and itll be there..

7-zip is my weapon of choice, however any of the decompression programs will open it up. Once you've got the zip files, drop them into your mods folder in the usual way.

Can't get the fuc%king thing to work. I do extract and it does the archive thing. Takes 5 mins to compress the files. So it's all zipped. Do the usual copy over as I've been doing but it doesn't appear on the game when I load it.

The zip files you're looking for should be inside the rar file. What exactly are you trying to compress?

I compress/change the entire thing (or try too) from RAR to ZIP format. It shows up as changed to ZIP format like the rest of my mods do, copy and paste into my mods folder but doesn't appear on the game when I load it up.

If you're using 7-zip, all you should need to do is extract the rar file into a folder, most likely the default folder it has listed. Inside that folder may be the zip files for the mod(s). Copy those zip files into your mod directory.

Just tried that. And nothing. Can someone else try this method? Definetely doesn't work for me. Found a YouTube guide on how to do it and followed it to the step and nothing.

I'm not sure exactly what is happening for you. AFAIK, mod files need to be in zip format. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. That being the case, modders that release mods would have the proper zip format, and in some cases will compress it in a rar file to make the download size smaller and/or when combining multiple mod files.

Typically I do not open a rar archive. I right click the file and select: 7-zip.... Extract to "folder name".... and viola. Go to that folder and there is your extracted archive. What exactly is inside the rar archive?

I just downloaded map for you. if you right click on the download NF_Marsch_og_entpacken.rar (hopefully its the same version as there are different ones) then go to 7zip option and click extract to "NF_Marsch_og_entpacken\". It creates a folder called NF_Marsch_og_entpacken. Inside that folder is 2 zip files NF_Marsch.zip and ZZZ_CommodityPrices.zip. These are the files you want to copy or move to your C:\Users\*****\Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2017\mods folder..

I've not looked inside the RAR file. I'll give it up as a bad thing. I saw it was 2nd most popular 1. Anyone else know of a map where you have to make your own palettes and can make your own beer / wine other than Cantabria Infinite map? (Which is bugged a lot)
